The supply of LED lights has grown fast and today LED lights are available for all spaces in the home. The more rooms with LED lights, the greater the energy savings it is going to be. When building an energy-friendly home, lighting must be taken into account at an early stage so that the lighting is as energy-efficient as possible. Once the lighting possibilities have been taken into account in time and the least energy-consuming luminaires have been selected, one environmentally friendly and ecological part of the home has been ensured.

1. At the latest, replace energy-consuming incandescent and halogen bulbs with energy-saving LED lights. Even with this simple measure, energy savings are considerable. Old lamps are a burden on nature and often do not illuminate as efficiently as new LED luminaires. In addition, the lifespan of LED luminaires is significantly longer than that of other light sources used in homes.

2. Use lights only when you need light. Thanks to the automatic light control, the lights only come on when they are needed. Automatic light control is particularly energy-efficient, for example in hallways and corridors, where no time is spent and the light does not have to be lit continuously. In various passageways, energy is saved when the light is on only for as long as there is a need. This way, the light is not left on accidentally either. There are ready-made solutions for automatic light control or it can be done with separate switches, see Limente Smart light control systems.

3. Choose the right luminaire for your home and use dimmers to your advantage. If you choose a slightly efficient luminaire for your current need, which almost always makes sense, you should control the luminaires with a dimmer. Thanks to the dimmer, the amount of light is always appropriate and it is easy for you to prepare for the increase in the need for light in the future, for example due to aging. When you adjust the light output lower, the energy consumption is also reduced.

4. Table and foot lamps are beautiful interior elements. Be sure to check if you can replace the lamp bulb with a new type of LED light. Stylish LED lights are also available in a variety of table or floor models, in addition to which LED bulbs are available in all traditional lampholders.

5. Always check the service life of LED bulbs when buying new light fixture. The service life is a mandatory marking on the bulbs or light fixtures packaging. There may be considerable differences between the different light bulbs. Unfortunately, service lives are not always fully reliable and comparable. In addition, light fixtures have other important and noteworthy features. Therefore, it is not advisable to choose light fixture based on their service life alone.

6. Energy friendliness is one of the things to consider when you start designing your lighting in the space. Take this into account as well and design the lighting in the space with energy friendliness in mind. If you feel that your own skills are not enough, use a lighting designer.

Note that the less energy you use, the smaller your carbon footprint.

Also avoid the use of energy-saving lamps, as LEDs are an even more energy-friendly way of lighting.

Prefer smart lighting solutions that can save up to 80-90% energy.

Did you know that the production of incandescent and halogen lamps with low efficiency has been restricted for a long time. As early as September 2006, matt incandescent and halogen lamps were withdrawn from the market.

Remember, the more light points, the more light you get into the room and at the same time it's easy to reduce the amount of light when you don't need that much light.

Check the life of the light fixtures when buying new LED lights.

Best of all, while you save energy with LED lights, you also save on operating costs.
